TASK 1 - Create a New Font

Introduction

This exercise was given is to create a new font by using Adobe Illustration. The exercise was base on "Serif" and "San Serif" font. 

Serif and San Serif

The design for the font, I created by having a thought of thorn. This font give some kind of action and also it can used in poster advertising too.

San Serif Process

First I used the type tool and type any letter using the "Arial" font. Second I selected the letter and created the outline. After getting the outline, I used the Direct Solution Tool and take the point of any end of the letter to get the sharp edge.

Serif Process

The serif process is exactly the same as San Serif. I used the type tools and also the Direct Solution Tool after getting the outline. The different between San Serif and Serif is only the font. For Serif, I used "Times New Roman"

TASK 2 - Typography Poster

Introduction

This exercise was given is to create a typography poster. This poster need to be suitable for the fonts that we have made.

About The Poster

For the poster, I used the font to make a shape of a heart which in the heart I filled it with all the art words. The inside of the heart were the things that I love to do and learn. While the word at the left side on the white spiral I put the name of this subject. 

Poster Process

First I search for the heart shape picture and then I drag the fonts to create words. I put the words following the shape of the heart. After I get the heart shape, I put the word "Typography" on the white spiral at the left side of the poster. 

TASK 3 - 3D Typography

Introduction

This exercise was given in a group to make a 3D word using papers, mounting board, cardboard and many more. For this exercise, I were given to a group of 4 people and our group members are Zulhamizan, Ong Khong Yee, Ng Ho Kit and Ain Atia. 

About The 3D Typography

For this exercise we decide to use a word of LOVE and "Love Mean Everything " with a Arial font. To make this 3D Typography, we used mounting board, glue and LED.

3D Typography Process

 First we draw the word on the mounting board and then we used the cutter to cut following the line of the word. After that, we join the mounting board using glue to make it look 3D.  For the bottom part, we make a box in order to stand the word and also we used a cutter to cut the word "Love Mean Everything" on it. Then, we used the LED and put it inside the words and in the box at the bottom. We used wrapping paper to wrap the word including the box. At the end, if we turn on the light, the word of LOVE will be seen and also the word "Love Mean Everything".
